Which are the essential minerals?
About 20 minerals are known to be necessary for body maintenance and regulatory functions. The major minerals are calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, chloride, magnesium and sulfur. trace minerals are boron, chromium, copper, iodine, iron, manganese, molybdenum, selenium, silicon, vanadium and zinc. Other minerals which may be necessary for humans include fluorine, cobalt and nickel.
